Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?
The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.
When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages, below the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm; it simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us ... and all of us will experience them
... we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God.
The storms do not have to overcome us, we can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into our lives. We can soar above the storm.
Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down; it is how we handle them.

Back to School in March...
Life can sure be intersting at times. Who would have known David and I would BOTH return to teaching in the month of March? After David's recent layoff from Dell I decided to put in a few applications at some local districts. I heard from a school a few days later. I actually told the Principal I was not interested at the time. I realy was hesitant to go back to work. Well, a few days later God gave me another little nudge and yet another Principal called me for another job. I decided to meet with her. After learning more about the job and the situation I told her I was interested. I then learned it was a traveling position between 2 schools, the other school being the first school that called me. Ha! Who was I to think I knew what I was doing? Smile.
I really do love teaching! I also love being home with my daughter all day. I am blessed to have my mom who will be able to care for her while I am at school. After a few serious talks with God I am comforted to know that this is the plan for my family at this time.
In addition David will be going back to teaching as well. Although I'm not sure where yet. He has not officially accepted a position he has been offered. I will post more on that later. At least when I am at liberty to say. :)
As for now I must pay a few bills online while I have the chance!

Pics of my kiddos
I haven't posted in a few days. I keep seeing cute photos on other blogs I read, so I thought I'd post some of my own :)!
Could Davis be a preacher someday??? The other pic of Davis is with Abraham Wright, he plays for the Miami Dolphins! Lucky Davis!
I hope you are having a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Casting Crowns
How could I forget to post about the best concert I have ever been to? Beating out Garth, Alabama, Clint Black, Phillips Craig and Dean, and I'm sure there are others :).
Last Thursday, the day David was laid off, my best friend Krista called w/ tickets available to go to the Casting Crowns concert that evening at 7pm. We were game! What great timing and not to mention a tremendous blessing! When we got our tickets we learned we were on the floor and only a few rows back from the front. The concert was amazing! If you ever have the opportunity to go I highly recommend it.

A series of unfortunate events...
Here at the Brown household things have been better, thats for sure. To start off with David was laid off from Dell last Thursday to our surprise! Maybe you heard about it on the news. Yes, he was one of the 240. Sigh. So on the job hunt he is...if you know of anything...he's a computer geek/math nerd :) Did you know that about him? Oh and he can still play a mean game of basketball. In addition to the lay off he has the worse case of the flu I have ever seen him have :( He won't even talk. So to say the least he has seen better weeks. Keep him in your prayers for a fast recovery. And also pray that none of us get it....I'm still deciding where I should sleep tonight. But then I keep thinking what if he were to pass out or something, I wouldn't be a very good wife if I was upstairs and of no help. He has been known to do that by the way. So I will close for now and try to get some much needed rest, it's been a long week already!

5 Random Things About Me...
1. I sleep w/ a pillow between my knees.
2. I once camped out in a strangers pasture and woke up to find him driving his tractor headed right towards our tent! Good thing I was in cross country at the time, I ran like wildfire!
3. The week after my wedding I fell and ripped my left thumbnail off...hurt worse than childbirth.
4. I have had one baby through natural childbirth (no drugs) by choice.
5. I once watched Madonna run the track at Pepperdine University. Evidently she did it often back in the 80's.
